Cypress Duo (Amanda Taylor, flute, and Justin Hoke, guitar) will be performing at the Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington, NC on Thursday, May 4th at 7 pm

“American Voices: Contemporary Chamber Music for Flute and Guitar”

The Concerts @ CAM series is pleased to welcome back Cypress Duo—Justin Hoke on guitar and Amanda Taylor on flute for a wonderful evening of music. Several significant works for flute and guitar were written in the late 20th century by American composers. Cypress Duo will present a program featuring several of these works including selections of Robert Beaser’s “Mountain Songs”, based on Appalachian folk song, and Lowell Liebermann’s “Sonata for flute and guitar”. Other highlights include a newly transcribed work by Justin Hoke, “Three Preludes” by George Gershwin, and a lesser known composition by Peter Schickele (also known as PDQ Bach). The performers will guide the listener through the program with short, intermittent discussions that introduce the context of each work. Purchase seats on CAM’s website: www.cameronartmuseum.org, by phone and at CAM’s Visitor Services desk. CAM Members and Students with valid college ID: $10.00, Non-Members: $16.00 (tax and fees not included). Weyerhaeuser Reception Hall.20150625_183513_resized
